From Foster Care to Faith Filled Freedom

God didn’t just rescue me. He rebuilt me.

Hi, I'm Karri Lynn Gage.

I grew up in the foster care system. I walked through things I wouldn’t wish on anybody. But I’m here — as a believer, a wife, a mom, and a grandmother to tell you this…

You are not too broken for God to heal.

You are not too old to start over. And your story is not over.

My new memoir, “The Bootsman Wore Bells,” is for every woman who’s ever cried in secret and still showed up for everybody else.

MY STORY PAGE

This is who I am now.
Not what they did to me.

My name is Karri Lynn Gage, and for most of my childhood, I didn’t belong to anyone. I grew up in the foster care system — hungry, confused, and already learning to keep secrets. But the enemy doesn’t get the last word.

As a mother and grandmother, I met Jesus not as a religion but as a living Healer who restores memories, breaks shame, and gives peace to women who have never felt safe.

Today I live in North Texas with my husband, children, and grandchildren.
I cook, pray, and care for our horses, grateful for each sunrise. I speak to women over 40 who have carried invisible scars for decades. God has turned my pain into purpose.

Why I Wrote the Books

There are things people don’t like to talk about in church, abuse, trauma, anger, and shame.

Book to break that silence and show that healing is possible.

“I will restore to you the years
that the locust has eaten.”

Joel 2:25

The Bootsman Wore Bells

A survivor’s story of trauma, truth, and tender redemption. This is not fiction. This is my life.

From my first memories in the foster system — hungry, scared, and unseen — through marriage, motherhood, and faith, I share the story of how God met me in my darkest places and made me whole.

Women Need the Truth Spoken in Love

When I speak, women feel seen, understood, and loved. I bring humor, Scripture, and a testimony that proves it’s never too late for redemption.

Let’s Stay Connected

You are not bothering me. You are not too much.
